West Virginia Attorney Announces Massive Fentanyl Trafficker Bust

United States Attorney for the Southern District of West Virginia, Will Thompson, announced on Wednesday that a total of 27 people have been indicted for their involvement in a drug trafficking organization (DTO) that operated in the Huntington area. Of the 27 individuals, 22 have already been arrested, while five remain at large.
According to Thompson, the indicted individuals were responsible for distributing large quantities of fentanyl and methamphetamine in and around Huntington. This announcement comes after an eight-month investigation that involved multiple states.
Thompson emphasized the importance of targeting those who threaten communities with drugs and the violence that often accompanies drug trafficking. He commended the collaborative effort and determination of law enforcement partners in successfully bringing the indictments forward.
As part of the operation, law enforcement agencies executed multiple search and arrest warrants, some of which took place on November 15. The efforts resulted in the seizure of approximately two pounds of methamphetamine, two pounds of fentanyl, 26 firearms, and $10,500 in cash.
The drug trafficking organization included members from various states outside of West Virginia, such as Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, and Ohio. Among those indicted are Kayla Dawn Powell, Christopher Anthony O'Dell, Denzil Roger Grant II, Georgia Alice Jackson, Donald James Duty, Shakur Raekwan Joyce, Kyla Smith, and Walter Alvin Cremeans.
Also indicted were Gary Diaz, Sharon Teston (also known as Angie Marie Cogar), Ladonna Rae Abner, and Paul Anthony Rucker. The full list of individuals indicted can be found on the U.S. Attorney's website.
